They then use their deep knowledge of attacker techniques and powerful data analysis tools to look for subtle indicators of compromise. This proactive approach allows the SOC to uncover stealthy, long-running intrusions and to significantly reduce the "dwell time"—the time an attacker is active inside the network before being detected. This trend is transforming the SOC from a passive monitoring function into an active and aggressive defense force.
